Royal Irish Rangers

The Royal Irish Rangers, a Territorial Army Regiment, was formed on July 1st, 1968 from three regiments,

Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, Royal Irish Fusiliers and Royal Ulster Rifles

 

Their Mascot is of course an Irish Wolfhound, since Major Hayes, the Commanding Officer of The Royal Irish Rangers,

upon his retirement in 1970 presented the regiment with

Brian Boru (Sanctuary Knight of Kerry ex Sanctuary Monica, born Dec.1969)

All following Mascots were also named Brian Boru with the addition of a roman numeral to the name
